Some interesting data has been released by some of the Ivy League universities regarding early decision admission rates. By in large, there has been a tightening in the admission rates across the board. Recall, Early decision plans are binding — a student who is accepted as an ED applicant must attend the college. This is different from Early action plans which are nonbinding — students receive an early response to their application but do not have to commit to the college until the normal reply date of May 1.
