3 $7K Scholarships for Black, Hispanic/Latinx, and Indigenous Undergraduate Students

Scholarships are always handy when you are a student. In this post, we will look at the Stronger Scholarships for Black, Hispanic/Latinx, and Indigenous undergraduate students by the Healthline and Prevention Institute.

Healthline and Prevention Institute Stronger Scholarship 2021

The Healthline and Prevention Institute Stronger Scholarship will award three $7,000 scholarships to a Black, a Hispanic/Latinx, and an Indigenous student reducing health inequities in their community. The deadline for this scholarship is April 20th, 2021.

The way communities are born, grow, live, work, and age determines their overall health and wellness. The way communities are born, grow, live, work, and age determines their overall health and wellness. These factors are known as the social determinants of health, and they affect everything from access to healthy food and education to the quality of healthcare people receive. They set the stage for overall well-being. Unfortunately, because of structural inequalities, Black, Hispanic/Latinx, and Indigenous communities are less likely to have access to these necessities – and in turn, that continues to perpetuate economic and racial injustice.

This year, Healthline is dedicating its annual scholarship funds to three outstanding students committed to breaking down barriers to health for the Black, Indigenous, and Hispanic/Latinx communities.

Mission

With a reach of over 200 million unique visitors per month, Healthline’s mission is to build a stronger, healthier world by providing evidence-based content focused on the “whole person” – the relationship between physical, mental and emotional health.

This year, Healthline is putting a spotlight on health inequities by teaming up with the Prevention Institute, a leading organization in the fight for equality and prevention.

Prevention Institute is a national nonprofit whose mission is to build prevention and health equity into key policies and actions at the federal, state, local, and organizational level to ensure that the places where all people live, work, play and learn foster health, safety, and wellbeing.
