University life is typically one of excitement. Seeing friends, going to parties, partaking in sporting activities, and seeking help from things such as an essay writing service make the rigors of class easier to deal with. So it goes without saying that times such as these have turned everything upside down.
Things don’t have to be more difficult, though. Attending classes online is now not only a possibility but a way of life for university students. And while it may seem easier to be able to stay at home for class, there are certainly challenges that it presents.
How can university life become manageable for those struggling with the quarantine? Here are a few things that students should be keeping in mind with the change in schedule and the disruption to university life.
1. Take Breaks
University students are trained to work, work, work all the time. After all, deadlines need to be met and projects need to be finished. But if you keep going non-stop, that is the quickest path to burnout and burnout is very real.

2. Create a Work Space

3. Get Active
During the quarantine, it can be far too easy to remain holed up at home. Sure, we cannot go out to public gatherings anymore, nor can we attend classes. But this doesn’t mean that staying active is an impossibility.
Go for a walk around the neighbourhood, perform a 15-minute workout routine, etc. Anything that you can do to break up the doldrums should be done. Staying inside all the time, remaining inactive, can have a drag not only on the body but on the mind as well.
Staying active will help to keep your mind fresh, to keep it active, and to help cognitive thinking. You don’t need to run triathlons; simply keep the body and mind as healthy and active as possible.
Additionally, a good, vigorous workout can also make for an excellent stress reliever. University can be quite a stressful time and doing things to remove as much of that stress as possible can make for a much more beneficial university experience.
4. Talk to Someone
Being shut in for months on end can have an impact on anyone. University students in general tend to spend time with friends, go to parties, play sports, etc. and not being able to have those gatherings can have a major impact on the psyche.
Don’t let all of that build up inside. The seclusion and not being able to be near friends is something that takes a toll on anyone. Talking to a counsellor or even a friend or family member can be vital for mental health during the time of quarantine.
While talking to someone may not resolve every issue, it can be cathartic to simply express those emotions and feelings. Don’t let those feelings build up within. Holding emotions in can be damaging to our confidence, our psyche, and our ability to be productive students during unprecedented times such as these.
The pandemic has different impacts on our psyches, more or less so than the next person. Talk to someone. Express how you feel. Doing so can provide the mental clarity necessary to provide a productive atmosphere going forward in the new university landscape.
